COMMIT: The HistoryMakers' 10th Anniversary Gala

The HistoryMakers’ 10th Anniversary Gala, An Evening With The HistoryMakers, will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago. Our featured guests include Reverend Al Sharpton, Dionne Warwick, Roland Martin, Susan Taylor, Denyce Graves, Nikki Giovanni, Gwen Ifill, Melba Moore, and Cathy Hughes. Our theme for the evening is COMMIT: Telling America's Stories…Celebrating Our Future. COMMIT is a simple call to action that challenges our supporters, volunteers, and sponsors to COMMIT their time, COMMIT their resources, and COMMIT their dollars to helping us grow our collection which currently houses 7,000 hours of African American testimony and history. That evening, we will be collaborating with various youth groups as we begin to bridge the gap between the old and young. This promises to be a night to remember.
